A fresh survey carried out in partnership with Visit Devon and Visit Cornwall established that 74 per cent of businesses which completed the survey saw negative impacts on their trade.

You may have seen users on a variety of social media platforms using the ’open for business’ hashtag following a campaign established amongst Devon and Cornwall traders and those associated with tourism just before February half term. This was to show support for the industry and to encourage people not to stay away.

Over the next few weeks, the English Riviera Tourism Company will be supporting a number of important tourism events that are being staged in order to help the industry get fully back on track once again.

The good news and support comes following an announcement by central government of an additional £2million fund to help tourism businesses areas across England that have been impacted by the latest adverse weather. And with the weather showing spring at its finest the regions popular for visitors are anticipating business as usual.
