Well now there’s sure to be more reason for lovers of the area to come back again. A well-known footpath to guests who to enjoy great walks in the area has been voted the prestigious accolade as the best walk in Britain.
The 630-mile South West Coast Path National Trail, that offers awe-inspiring sea and landscapes takes in iconic delights, won the voting for the second year running from Walk magazine.
Mark Owen, the National Trail Officer for the South West Coast Path, said the timing could not be more fitting in the light of the recent storms which have hit the coast.
He said that what the award and the weather have emphasised was just how well managed the coastline was for walkers to enjoy.
The award was voted for by readers of the magazine published by the Ramblers’ Association.
The news of the award success comes just weeks after it was declared the coastal path is worth a staggering £436 million to the region’s tourism economy and is acknowledged as a valuable asset among local businesses following the Outstanding Contribution to Tourism title it received at the South West England Tourism Excellence Awards 2013-14.
